Man killed after car crashes into tree on City Avenue

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 29-year-old man was killed after crashing a car into a tree in Philadelphia's Overbrook section late Sunday night.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. along the 6400 block of City Avenue.

Police say the man was driving a rental car when he struck a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The name of the man killed has not been released.
